Let's talk hormones. I’m sure you know the basics, but unless you deep dive into it, you may not know just how much and how specifically they affect your body. They should play together in a perfect symphony. But I know from experience that sometimes they’re out of tune and that symphony sounds more like a sixth-grade band concert!
I also know from experience that when you find out your numbers, do your research, and create a plan, you can see a wonderful improvement in how your body responds to all the healthy things you’re doing!
Before you can address your hormone issues, you need to figure out what your numbers are. I have an amazing provider who does testing for all of my clients. It’s part of my Revive program.
But whether you’re my client or not, you should know your numbers. Find a hormone specialist or a functional medicine provider who can tell you your numbers and who is focused on finding the root cause of any symptoms you have.
The next step is educating yourself on what affects your hormone levels. There are factors that affect women, like birth control, and having babies. But the way that you eat and the way you exercise are also huge factors that play a role.
Women are on a 28-day hormone cycle (on average). The way you eat, the way you exercise, and the way you sleep should be different depending on where you are in that cycle!
There are also environmental toxins that can play a role in how your hormones communicate with your body. There are also lifestyle factors that contribute to hormone levels and their interactions with your body.
Do your research on how your lifestyle is influencing your hormones!
Knowledge is power! But knowledge can also be overwhelming when you don’t have anywhere to put it. Like I mentioned before, my Revive program includes hormone testing. But the important next step is sitting down and making a plan! Adjusting the factors in your diet, your workout, and your lifestyle so that your hormone levels are not just normal, but optimal. Normal is boring. I want your hormones to be in a perfect symphony so that you are living your optimal life!
“I eat really clean, I exercise all the time, and it's not working.” It's hormones. You have to give your body the opportunity to play beautifully, not like the 6th grade band. If you have some questions about hormones or you want to know more about it, shoot me a message. I would love to begin that conversation with you.
