Are you getting ready to get ready? Making plans to better yourself is one thing, however, the execution of the plan, is where the magic happens. Imagine what it would feel like to make that magic happen and have it stick for good! 

If you’re like most people, you look in the mirror every day and see something that you don’t love. You might, if you’re moving toward a growth mindset, see some things you do love as well. That criticism of yourself is what keeps you reaching higher, striving for more and it can be a great thing. When it comes to reshaping our body, focusing on areas to improve is necessary. Hyperfocus without a plan, however, can create negative thought patterns and lead to failure.  

Are you getting ready to get ready? 

How many times have you set a goal to move toward your personal weight zone, the place in which you’d feel your best? 


How many times have you taken steps toward it, maybe reached it briefly, but backslid to square one? 


If that’s you, then you’ve been missing a piece to the puzzle, possibly even two pieces. To learn how to reshape your body, you must look at more than the image in the mirror. 


Reaching your personal weight zone, requires a perfect storm of mindset, movement, and nutrition. 


Once you’ve found the perfect formula, the magic happens! 

Here are some hacks to get you to that perfect formula: 

  • Envision yourself in your weight zone. Use all 5 senses to describe how it would feel. 
  • Find a form of exercise or movement that you love. 
  • Explore sustainable options for healthy eating that fuel you (see the blog Food is Fuel for ideas) 
  • Immerse yourself in the topic. Books, podcasts, articles, follow informative and accurate social media accounts 


At first glimpse, these all seem like more “getting ready”. They are, and they lead to success. So why is preparation important to success? Preparation can get you to your goal more directly and rapidly. Just like with nutrition and exercise, simply doing it doesn’t work. Your efforts need to be streamlined and focused in the right direction. Preparing for preparing’s sake is what gets us stuck. 


Each of these actions serves to stoke the flame of excitement within you to reach your new goal. As you flood your mind with positive influences and supportive media, you’ll easily remember to stay on track and focused on your goal. 


Once you have that vision in your mind of how it will feel to get there, you’ll be on fire to get it done. Finding healthy eating ideas will lead you to want to try new things and get you excited about fueling your body. Moving your body and doing it while smiling is addicting and will carry you through the days when you aren’t as motivated. 


When we approach changing our bodies with the attitude of, “I have to lose weight” or “I need to go on a diet”. It feels like we’re punishing ourselves. No wonder we drag our feet about getting started! If you don’t find something that is fun and to which you look forward to doing, you will eventually burn out. 

It’s time to get ready to launch yourself into action! 

Get up and get focused on making the magic happen for yourself. Take the steps to stoke the flames of excitement to reach and exceed your goals by reminding yourself that it’s fun to feel healthy and eat great food that fuels you!
