Blog Post

This is a subtitle for your new post

I just had a new client sign on with me. Not because she needs to (or wants to) lose weight, but because she wants to feel better. She runs her own business, she has a young son, and she jokes that her husband is her other child. She’s exhausted and stressed out every day. Sound familiar?

Most of my clients do want to lose weight. They want to
see a change. And that’s fine. With my programs, they will end up losing weight with the healthy changes they make. But I hope that what they really end up embracing are the changes that they can’t see. All the great things that happen internally.

What does your day look like?

Here’s my new client’s typical day:

  • She goes to work early and works for 12 hours. When she gets home around 7:00 or 8:00 pm, she either throws something together for dinner or eats whatever is around. And she typically ends up having to work a bit at home in the evenings. In fact, everyone is on their own screen, sometimes in different rooms or sometimes in the same room, but always disconnected.
  • She has a babysitter there for when her kids come home from school, but she is the person handling everything else. She’s in charge of meal planning. She’s in charge of activity planning. And she’s in charge of making sure everyone is getting where they need to be.
  • She doesn’t sleep well, and she doesn’t get down time. She feels guilty for not being able to play with her family more. And she feels resentful for having to be the person who does all the scheduling and all the errands.

Does success require sacrificing your sanity and health?

I know that on some level, you can relate. You can relate to that feeling of chaos and overwhelm. And when you’re in that mode, the last thing you want to do is add “go to the gym” to your to-do list. Or maybe the last thing you want to do is cook a separate, healthy meal for yourself while your family eats pizza.

Before you can do any of that, the madness needs to stop!

What would happen if you drew a line in the sand at 7:00 pm and said “I’m not working anymore today”? Would the world end? Or just your sense of obligation? Unless your job is saving lives, you don’t have to answer that email or text right away. You get to have a boundary around your time.

You’re also allowed to delegate. That means giving up a bit of control and allowing for certain tasks to possibly not be done as well as you might do them. But even if they only did it half as well as you, wouldn’t it still be amazing to get it off your plate?

Sustainable health is more than diet and exercise

You don't have to be miserable to be successful! You don't have to sacrifice your sanity, your sleep, and your health in order to be an amazing mom, business owner, partner, and friend. But you do have to draw some lines in the sand. You have to create boundaries, delegate, and make time for yourself.

Look at your life right now. Look at your schedule. Can you imagine yourself living this way in 10 years?
If that thought of living this way in 10 years doesn’t make you happy, then why are you living this way now

Let me help you make some changes. Before we focus on the meal planning and the workouts, let’s look at what’s causing chaos in your life and in your mind. And let’s tackle that first.

Your health matters. If you’re ready to embrace that by simplifying, delegating,
and getting support, set up a time to chat with me and let’s move you towards where you want to be!
