How often do you use “I don’t have time” as a reason for not doing something?
Undoubtedly, you’ve heard someone say, “We all have the same 24 hours in a day.” Followed by a statement about prioritizing your time differently.
What if it’s not a matter of choosing to prioritize yourself or your health. What if you don’t believe that you’re worthy of being the highest priority?
When we don’t feel worthy, our outside world matches just how we feel. When we don’t feel like we are enough for the things we desire and deserve, we end up deflecting any good that may want to come our way without realizing it.
Acknowledge what is amazing about you. We are our own worst critics. We focus on the things we dislike, the things we want to improve or change. We do that while simultaneously focusing on the absolute best qualities we see in others.
When you develop an appreciation for the things you are doing right, it becomes easier to add to the list.
Create positive momentum in your mind and it will translate to positive momentum in your habits.
What would you say to convince that person (you) that they deserve to feel great? How would you convince them that they deserve to spend time making themselves healthier?
Every time we try to improve ourselves and fail, we reinforce or justify why we aren’t worthy of dedicating time and energy to ourselves. We consciously or subconsciously say, “See I knew it wouldn’t work.” Or “This is why I shouldn’t bother.”
You have become a pro at reinforcing reasons why you shouldn’t choose yourself over other priorities.
Now you have to become a pro at convincing yourself that you are worth it!
It sounds corny but it’s true. You have to believe that you’re capable of achieving your goals long before they will happen. Think of yourself as a seed. When we plant a seed in a garden, we believe wholeheartedly that it will grow into a big beautiful plant.
Does it look like a plant? Nope
Does it act like a plant? Nope
Why then do you believe it will ever be a plant?
You may not look the way you would like.
You may not perform the way you would like.
