I used to have one of those robot vacuum cleaners that run around the house on their own. And I hated it! I did. Because it seemed like it was always going, going, going, but without a pattern. And it never seemed to really effectively clean anything. It seemed to clean everything a little bit, in a really haphazard way.
So many women are just like that vacuum cleaner. Going, going, going. Doing, doing, doing. But without a pattern. And admit it! You’re never actually getting things done 100%. Especially when it comes to your health and mental wellness. Because there’s so much going on to pull you away from your plans.
There are phone calls and emails and texts with fires you need to put out. There are meetings and last-minute errands and emergencies. So of course you’re trying to move from thing to thing to thing to try and get everything done.
You might not even realize how stressed you are. When you’re in survival mode, it’s common to tell yourself that how you feel is normal and unchangeable. But what is your body telling you? Chronic stress can manifest itself in different, physical ways. Have you experienced any of these physical symptoms?…
The problem is that, even when your body is telling you that you’re too stressed, you still might feel like you can’t prioritize your own wellbeing.
When you’re running around without a strategy, like a robot vacuum, you're not putting any real focus on your health. Sure, one day you’ll get to the gym for a quick workout. Another day, you’ll eat a healthy meal. But you’re not able to fully dedicate real effort to taking care of yourself. And that level of stress, overwhelm, and self-abandonment isn’t healthy or sustainable.
Something that I hear all the time is that in order to be successful, something has to be sacrificed.
To succeed in your career, you have to sacrifice time with your kids. To succeed as a mom, you have to sacrifice your career. To succeed at anything, you have to sacrifice your wellbeing.
Stop believing that. Because it’s not true. You just need a different approach!
Next week, I’m hosting a free workshop called “Balancing Self Care and Success.” We’re going to talk about strategies that will reduce your stress and allow you to prioritize your health, wellness, and sanity. It’s a taste test of my coaching program which means that it’s very interactive and you’ll come away with some fantastic strategies to start putting into place right now.
If you downloaded my micro audio summit last week, you already have a ticket. But if you weren’t able to, you can sign up for it now!
