Taking one hour in the evening to line up your next 24 hours will help you sleep better, eat better and keep on top of your many obligations. Try this for 1 week and see what changes.
Each evening before bed or before sitting down to “unwind” (see future blog post about this), take an hour to look at the next day’s schedule.
· First, look at where you need to be and when. Look at kid’s schedules, spouse or other family who need your assistance. Figure out the logistics of what tomorrow looks like.
· Second, what will you eat and when? Plan meals, snacks, prepare anything you can right now.
· Third, what do you need to wear or take with you? I’m often going from the gym to appointments, so I must shower at the gym. Pack it all now so you can grab and go in the morning.
· Fourth, have the kids do the same. Kids as young as 3 can help pack their own bags and put them by the door. They like to help so let them, just double check that they have everything!
Lastly, take a deep breath! You’re now ahead of schedule. Doesn’t that feel good?!
