If any of this sounds familiar, it might be time to consider the role your metabolism plays in your life.


Your metabolism is like a dishwasher that doesn't seem to get things clean no matter what fancy detergent you use. It gets all clogged up and needs a good cleaning. Your cold feet and hangry stomach are the same as spotty dishes, they're signs that something isn't right.


The solution? We need to clean out the gunk and help our body to run efficiently.


Cold Hands and Feet: More Than Just a Joke


Cold hands and feet aren't just a punchline for jokes about women freezing their partners in bed. It's not about being a woman or having "bad circulation." It's a sign that our metabolic machine isn't generating enough heat. This could be a hint that your thyroid isn't performing at its peak. Now, this doesn't mean you need to rush for medication. Instead, consider lifestyle changes that can benefit your thyroid and overall health. Prioritize sleep, whole foods, and avoid inflammatory foods like sugar, whey, and certain grains and dairy products.


Taming the Hangry Monster


Next up, the hangry monster. If you're constantly hungry, your body might not be fat-adapted. In simple terms, it hasn't learned how to use fat for fuel. It's like a car that only knows how to run on premium gas, leaving it stranded when regular unleaded is the only option. The solution? Gradually teach your body to burn fat. It's not an overnight process, but with changes in your eating habits and cutting out inflammatory foods, you can help your body learn this new skill.


Eating Less but Gaining More?


Lastly, if you're eating less than 1800 calories a day and still gaining weight, you might need to eat more. But, I'm not talking about stuffing your face with Oreos, delicious as they are. It's better to gradually increase your intake with nutrient-dense foods like fruits, vegetables, high-quality proteins, nuts, and seeds.


Time to Listen to Your Body
