You are probably aware of that little voice inside your head, but you may or may not be really tuned in to what it says most of the time. Do you really pay attention to how positive or negative your thoughts are? Your internal dialogue, or self-talk, can be a cheerleader or a critic. I'm here to tell you, you need to start focusing on making those thoughts positive, because you deserve to change your life so you can be the best version of you!


What Does Your Inner Voice Say?

 

Unfortunately, many of my clients seem to have a Negative Nellie for an inner-voice, and she often reminds them of thoughts like “I try to avoid looking at myself in the mirror.” “I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin.” “I hate my body.” “I can believe I let myself get this out of control.” and one I hear my clients confess so often, “I'm scared of life passing me by; I don't want to end up like my family members who have heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and all the things.”

 

Those are real, serious, awful things that no one should ever think or feel about themselves. Yet, all of my clients, every single one of them, have said one of those things are all of those things. Does that resonate with you? Have those thoughts gone through your mind? I hope not.


My motto is, if those aren't things you would say to your best friend, your mom, or your daughter then they aren't things you should say to yourself. Ever.

 

You Have the Power to Change Your Life And Create the Best Version of You


But if they have, know that you're not alone. Understand there are others who feel your pain, and also struggle to let go of their inner critic. There is something deeper behind it. 

 

Before you can begin to shift your body, you must first shift your mind. Even from the most dire of circumstances, you can create positive change. So let's talk about something a little happier, huh? Let's talk about what happens when you do that. 

 

When you create that shift, when you become the person who feels good in their skin. You become the person who can do whatever they want with their kids and their grandkids and not get winded. Imagine them chasing after you. And just allow yourself to remember what it feels like to get out of bed in the morning, waking up, excited for the day, full of energy, and ready to go. When's the last time you woke up like that? It can be done again. I promise you. And the best part is, it doesn't require this major life overhaul. 

 

So often, we imagine it’s a much bigger deal and more work than it actually is. The honest truth is while it is a big deal to change, it’s also a big deal to feel like you hate looking at yourself in the mirror. And it's a big deal to look in the mirror, smiling at yourself, knowing you are crushing it today! 

 

It’s a bit cliche, but I remember the Stuart Smalley skit from Saturday Night Live years ago, when he would look at himself in the mirror and remind himself he was awesome and he loved himself. I have helped so many women get real results just like this because they can simply look themselves in the mirror and not be disgusted. They are able to be proud and confident. It doesn’t happen after they have six pack abs or have become a size two. They start to realize that self-love because they have found their healthiest version of them. 

 

I want that for everybody. I want that for the whole world. And that’s why I do what I do. 


You Deserve the Best

 

Where are you feeling the discomfort? Is it physical pain? In your knees? Your back? Riding in airplanes when you travel? Sitting in stadium seats when you go to concerts with friends? Squeezing into roller coasters with your family? Do you feel emotional pain? Is it because you feel out of control? Is there a disconnect between what's happening inside and outside of your body? And you don't have to feel that way. 

 

Know that you can change it if you want. You can do all those things and more. You can begin to create a new chapter in your health story. I am able to help you. I want you to be able to look at yourself in the mirror, or get dressed in the morning and feel like the badass that you are.

With the right diet and movement and mindset work, you can combat those really well. It’s possible you may not need prescription medications or live in constant fear of disease.
