A dear friend of mine became a widow this weekend at the age of 41. Watching my friend go through something so painful has been hard. And second to that, seeing someone’s life cut short has made me very cognizant of my mortality.
That ever-present consciousness of mortality is part of why I do what I do. It’s why I’m such a big proponent of creating a healthy lifestyle. I want you to give yourself every opportunity in the world to live longer and better. It’s not about appearance. Because while looking good is fun, feeling good is better, and being above-ground is the most important part of all.
Let’s talk about stats for a moment:
You won't die from heart disease. You won't die from diabetes. You won't die from metabolic syndrome. You won't die from a lot of cancers if you simply take care of yourself.
You have to front load your success and your longevity. What do I mean by “front load”? I mean that you have to do it ahead of time.
It’s time to get proactive and do more than what you’re currently doing! Pay attention to what’s going in your stomach, and start moving! It’s not enough to count macros and go for a walk at lunch. You have to put time, thought, and
effort into taking care of yourself.
You have to do it all, do it the right way for you, and do it every damn day. Not for a few days at the beginning of each month. And not during the week, but taking the weekends off. I’ve had clients who do that, and after a couple of weeks they come to me upset because they aren’t succeeding.
A long healthy life takes consistency. It takes a whole-hearted, complete commitment to healthy choices and healthy habits.
You only have one body. Don’t you want it to stick around for as long as possible? The American lifestyle is killing us at a rapid pace. Do what you can right now to change the course you’re on so that you can live a long, healthy, vibrant life!
If you’re ready to change your habits and take control of your health, set up a call with me. Let's talk about what you are doing, see where the holes are, and talk about how I can help you fill them. Because I want you to be around for a long time too.
