The first Monday in January is the day when millions and millions of people start their New Year resolutions. 82% of people agree that Monday is the day to start working towards a goal, even if it’s not in January. Are you part of the 82%? If so, you can definitely be successful if you turn your goal into a plan!
There’s something about the beginning of the week and the beginning of the year that signals to us, “Today is the day you can do it!” Then by Wednesday or Thursday, and by February and March, our enthusiasm starts to wane. Maybe it’s because we don’t see the progress you want to see. Or maybe our confidence just isn’t there.
Last year, 43% of people made resolutions. This year, only 29% did. That dip could be because people are realizing that “resolutions” don’t work. But I think it has to do with a loss of optimism that I know we’ve all felt over the last couple of years.
There are a bunch of reasons to be optimistic this year! And when it comes to your health, the biggest reason is that we know more about our bodies than we’ve ever known before! We know more about how to live a longer, healthier, and happier life. So whether it’s Monday or Thursday, I’m glad you’re starting. And there are proven ways to ensure that you’re successful.
The best way to make sure that you’re successful is to create a plan. That means defining your goals and desires, digging deep into
why you need to get fiercely focused, and then choosing the mosting impactful goal and breaking it down into steps.
When you have a plan that you can visualize down to the effort of each step, it’s so much easier to convert that to real success.
