In the last 3 months, we’ve had a crash course on focus. We’ve learned valuable lessons about where we would like our focus to be. Some realized that they were spread too thin and focused on so many things that it was hard to keep all the balls in the air. Others learned that their focus was on the wrong things causing to miss the important stuff. What did you learn? Where was your focus before Feb. 2020? Where is it now? As we begin to ramp back up to full speed, it’s critical to be focused in the right direction.
Prior to COVID shutting the world down, I was moving at a pretty fast pace. I was juggling parenting active kids, being a great wife, running my coaching company, teaching skiing, teaching group fitness and protecting my “me time”. It was a lot, but it’s what I’ve been doing for years and it felt normal. Once most of that was removed from my calendar, I, like many, did some reflecting. I found that there were things that I’d like to do more of, and a few things I’d like to eliminate.
Now that we’re beginning to emerge from lockdown, prioritizing focus is critical. We need to ensure that as we take back up with our busy lives, we don’t lose sight of our goals. Being too busy without purpose can leave you feeling frustrated by the chaos. It can lead to feeling as though you can only be great at one thing, when you want to be great at ALL THE THINGS.
The way to be great at all the things is to act with intention and be very disciplined.
Here are some ways to do that:
Find Clarity
Where do you want to experience the most growth or success? What will get you jumping out of bed to accomplish? We’ve heard over and over the call to “Find your Why”. It’s more than something your find, you have to feel it!
Make Space
How can you create the time or space to allow for growth? Your slate is blank, fill it with intention. You have to know what you want and then create opportunities for yourself to accomplish it. With a blank slate, there’s room to focus on several things, if done properly.
Set Boundaries
As soon as the world starts spinning, your phone and email will blow up with opportunities to reengage in all of your obligations. Choose wisely! Remember you can focus on more than one thing, but you get to choose which things. You’re in charge!
Be intentional about how and where you focus your energy.
You’re a highly intelligent being, capable of multitasking and achieving much. Knowing what you want will help you to avoid being distracted. Creating a laser focus on a specific list of goals ensures you’ll achieve them.
Now is the time to get focused on what you want to achieve.
I’ve created a community specifically to support you and others like you. This community provides a space for gaining insights into what it takes to become an elite performer, opportunities to connect with others who share your desire for success, and so much more! The Mindset Mastery Membership, which opens May 11, is going to be unlike any membership you’ve experienced! The community within will be on the same mission as you and will help you to push yourself to the next level. I’ll be sharing more details in the coming days. I promise you won’t want to miss this opportunity!
The COVID crisis brought the world to a screeching halt and allowed us the opportunity to take stock of our situation. We were able to reassess and evaluate our priorities and goals. Now we must place our focus on our goals, to eliminate the distractions headed our way. Joining up with a group of like-minded people is a surefire way to take yourself to the next level in all areas of your life. Jump on board and let’s do this!!
