Recently I had a client tell me the most amazing thing. She said that she had gotten more out of our 24 weeks together than out of a year of working with a psychiatrist. 😲


I had to share that with you because I’m
overjoyed at this! Of course I was flattered that I could have that kind of an impact on someone's life. My heart exploded! Why? Not because I’m trying to boast about my program, but because she has been able to accomplish these results in a short amount of time with me compared to her investment of time and money with her psychiatrist. As I continued to reflect on her message, I found I was a little saddened too. It had taken her so long, and she had suffered unnecessarily, because she just didn't have the right resources and the right information to get to where she is now. It made me wonder how many women are stuck in that same place. Are you trying to DIY your health and wellness? 


It is my passion and personal mission to support women in being and feeling their absolute best with optimal health and wellness. I have helped this client reach that goal, and
I have helped others. It’s my mission to continue to change an exponential number of lives through a program of sustainable self care. I want everyone to feel as amazing as my client did. It does not have to take years. It simply requires the right tools. 


Did you know that 91% of women have a negative self image? They don't like how they look in the mirror. As many as 50% of women actually feel a sense of disgust when they look in the mirror.


That is devastating, and it needs to change right now.


On top of these feelings of negativity and disgust, many woman are discouraged at the idea of coaching. They feel they aren’t worth the investment of both time and money into coaching to change their health and how they feel about themselves. As a result, they're stuck in this place of misery, this place of disgust, and not really sure how they're going to get out of it. They remain afraid to take the step to get out of it. 


So what do so many women end up doing? They try to
DIY their health and wellness. I have shared before about Googling in an attempt to come up with a own plan in an attempt to figure it out on your own. Trust me, this is never a good idea. You are a unique individual with needs, goals, and a lifestyle no one else has. So trying to hack a one-size-fits all approach from the internet is never never never a good idea. It’s a waste of time and money. The purchase workouts that may not be right, they create meal plans that may not be the best of their bodies. It’s a waste of time and money. 


Three reasons NOT to DIY your health and wellness


Your Time Matters


How much is your time worth? I'm guessing quite a bit. In addition to that, how much extra time do you actually have? If I had to guess, I’d say not very much. If you don't have a lot of time, and
your time is worth money, and you spend hours and hours Googling how to eat right and how to shift your mindset, that ends up being a lot of time and money wasted, doesn’t it? 


Trust a Proven Process


When you work with an expert, you have the benefit of their proven process. There's a reason why people seek out experts or teachers when they want to learn something new. Sure, you can try it on your own, but it generally doesn't go well. For example, when you decide you're going to take up tennis, you take tennis lessons, When you decide you're going to learn how to ski, hopefully you take a ski lesson (or two). Experts have a proven process. It’s not something you can Google. It's something that experts have honed over years of experience, knowledge, research, and how to
support others in learning the skills as well. 


Acknowledging Your Need for Support


Lastly, part of being strong and powerful is recognizing your weaknesses, acknowledging them, and then seeking out help to make that weakness a strength. You are not expected to be an expert in everything. You cannot be. Coaching is about so much more than just having that plan. It's about so much more than
accountability. It's about having an expert who has a proven process and knowledge and skill to help you implement and sustain the work, the habits, and the change.


Google is amazing for a lot of things. When it comes to your health and your wellness, Google is not the best place to go. It's far better to find an expert who has a proven process and is going to get you from point A to point B as effectively and efficiently as possible.
